One little word

One of the blogs that I follow for creative scrapbooking inspiration is Ali Edward. Every year she chooses a word to focus on - to reflect and act on - and I think I would like to join her this year. The word that has been speaking to me is 'delight'.
delight - joy: great enjoyment and pleasure, somebody or something giving joy.
I would like to feel more delight in my life - more joy in the stage I'm in, more joy in my family and my home. I find myself being more negative as I get older - not that I am unhappy, it's just that I think things become stale and what once was uplifting eventually becomes 'bleh' unless you make the effort to look with fresh eyes once in a while. I would also like to bring delight to others - to make that effort to listen to their needs and do something to make their day. I pride myself on noticing new haircuts and finding something nice to say to people to make them feel good about themselves when I am at work. Now I need to focus on bringing more delight to my family - making sure that they feel cherished and appreciated and do little things to show I care. Here's to a delightful 2011!!

Why research is good!

This morning I (very excitedly) signed on to google and then searched my blog name to see what would come up. Well....apparently frenchcaroline is the name of a porn film! Also, there seems to be a whole lot of naughty french girls called caroline who like big c***s and other things - if you get my drift....
So now I have to decide if I want to change the title of my blog - which I don't want to do because I have been using frenchcaroline as a user name for years and I just like it!

I think I'm gonna stick with it and see what happens.

Well....hello there! Welcome and thanks for dropping by! I am feeling a little shy about starting a blog - do I really have anything to say that you might find interesting? What I find interesting is talking about books, travel, scrapbooking, movies and decorating on a budget! You might wonder why I chose the name frenchcaroline? My name is pronounced 'Carolyn' and I have spent the majority of my life explaining that my family is french and that 'Caroline' is the french spelling. Oh and I also speak french ;)
